چکیده

We review our analysis of the strong coupling limit of compact QED on a lattice with staggered Fermions. We show that, for infinite coupling, compact QED is exactly mapped in a quantum antiferromagnet. We discuss some aspects of this correspondence relevant for effective field theories of Josephson junctions arrays. This work is supported in part by a grant from the M.U.R.S.T.. نظریه میدان ناجابه‌جایی و پارامترهای نقض لورنتس در QED

Non-commutative field theory as a theory including the Lorentz violation can be constructed in two different ways. In the first method, the non-commutative fields are the same as the ordinary ones while the gauge group is restricted to U(n). For example, the symmetry group of standard model in non-commutative space is U(3)×(2)×U(1) which can be reduced to SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) by two appropriate spo...

Phase-locking in Strongly Coupled Squid Cells

Within the RSJ model we performed an analytical and numerical investigation of SQUID cells consisting of two Josephson junctions shunted by an extremely small inductance leading to strong coupling of the elements. Contrary to the well-known behavior of cells shunted by a high inductance voltage phases of the junctions are locked with very small phase difference for almost all values of external...

Phase locking in quantum and classical oscillators: polariton condensates, lasers, and arrays of Josephson junctions

We connect three phenomena in which a coherent electromagnetic field could be generated: polariton condensation, phase-locking in arrays of underdamped Josephson junctions, and lasing. All these phenomena have been described using Dicke-type models of spins coupled to a single photon mode. These descriptions may be distinguished by whether the spins are quantum or classical, and whether they ar...

Duality in two capacitively coupled layered arrays of ultrasmall Josephson junctions

We consider the problem of two capacitively coupled Josephson junction arrays made of ultrasmall junctions. Each one of the arrays can be in the semiclassical or quantum regimes, depending on their physical parameter values. The former case is dominated by a Cooper-pair superfluid while the quantum one is dominated by dynamic vortices leading to an insulating behavior. We first consider the lim...

The Superconductor-to-Insulator Transition in Resistively-Shunted Josephson-Junction Arrays

This essay describes the, analytical theory, experimental observations and potential applications of superconductor‐to‐insulator quantum phase transitions in arrays of resistively‐shunted Josephson junctions and superconducting islands dissipatively‐coupled to an external source of single‐particle excitations.
